\n\n5K Run/2K Walk starts at 8:30 am
\n\nFeeding America estimates that more than 10% of Illinois residents are food insecure as a result of the pandemic. \; \;You can make a difference for these local families.
\n\nPlease join us in this chip-timed\, family-friendly 5K run/ 2K walk to feed our hungry neighbors!
\n\nSince 1999\, Neighborhood Food Pantries has provided food security to our neighbors in need\, as well as monetary assistance for housing\, utilities\, medical care/prescriptions\, etc. \;Funds raised from this 5K event will be used to help us reach our 2021 goal to provide over 2 million meals!

\n\nWe are currently offering both a Virtual and an In-Person event for 2021. There is limited availability for the in-person option\, although in-person slots may increase based on changing CDC advisories and IL re-opening stages.
\n\nWe are offering a 5K chip-timed run (eligible for time awards &ndash\; overall and by age group)\, as well as a 2K family walk.
\n\nAll participants (virtual or in-person) will receive the same event t-shirt\, finisher medal and other items\, but ONLY IN-PERSON PARTICIPANTS are eligible for time awards.
\n\nOur plans are based off of our most-current understandings of all health and safety recommendations\, and we reserve the right to adjust the parameters of the race in order to protect the health and safety of our participants\, volunteers\, and staff members.
\n\nVirtual Event
\n\nOur virtual event is similar to our in-person event\, but participants will complete their walk/run anywhere they choose &ndash\; in your neighborhood\, at a local park\, or on your treadmill! All virtual participants will receive the race t-shirt and finisher medal\, but will not be eligible for time awards. (Note: T-shirts and race packet must be picked up at Dick Pond Athletics on Carol Stream &ndash\; no packets will be mailed).

\n\nWe are currently planning for a limited in-person event day race experience that will allow physical distancing between participants\, staff\, and volunteers.
\n\nRace waves are currently set in groups of 50 each\, and will start at 8:30 AM\, 8:45 AM\, and 9:00 AM.
\n\nRunners will all be assigned to the 8:30 AM or 8:45 AM time slots.
