Sofia Radice Named Female Athlete of the 2017 Winter Season

March 23, 2017
Now in its third year, the West Chicago Community High School Athlete of the Season is a way to recognize student athletes who have made a great contribution to the school. For the winter 2017 season, Sofia Radice of West Chicago was chosen for this honor.
Currently a junior, Radice played both basketball and softball freshman year, but has concentrated on basketball the past two years. She earned All-Conference honors this season. Radice also serves as a Student Ambassador. A scholar-athlete, Radice has been on the Honor Roll multiple times during her high school career.
When asked what inspires her as an athlete, Radice says, “My travel coach is the one who inspires me the most because he knows my abilities and pushes me to exceed my goals.”
After high school, Radice plans to attend a college in Indiana and earn a degree in athletic training and health education while participating in college basketball.
When asked what advice she would pass on to future WCCHS student athletes Radice says, “I would advise them to find a balance between prioritizing school working and playing the game they love.”
