Monthly Luncheon - 09/12/18 - From Iraq to the US; An Immigrant's Compelling Story
Carol Stream Chamber presents
From Iraq to the United States; An Immigrant's Compelling Story
Mais Sahib came to the United States in 2008.
Her story starts with the deep understanding that staying in Iraq was no longer an option. Facing uncertainty as to whether she and her husband would eventually relocate to the United States starts her journey. Mais will share with you what it means to uproot oneself and build a new life in a foreign land. Tim Kustusch, World Relief Aurora/DuPage, Chamber member, will be partnering with Mais in the telling of her story and weave in how World Relief Aurora/DuPage assisted Mais and her husband in building a successful life here in Carol Stream.

LUNCHEON/RSVP POLICY - Our Luncheon /RSVP Policy is that attendees pre-register for all chamber luncheons, regular monthly luncheons as well as Women In Business luncheons. When you pre-register, we are better able to plan with the restaurants we are dealing with for the right amount of meals. Pre-registration (RSVP) must be done 3 business days prior (Friday noon for a Wednesday luncheon) and walk-ins will not be able to be accommodated. Some luncheons require earlier response. Fee for regular member luncheon is $25 and non-members are $30 pre-paid. Cancellation and no-shows will be charged $25. Payment will be expected in advance or at the door; no invoicing available. Some luncheons with other groups or special events may have different fees. We do appreciate your consideration and cooperation on this policy. Please call the chamber office if you have any further questions on this matter (630) 665-3325.
